1. Golden Gate Bridge

It's also one of the most famous in America. 
Development of the famous bridge started in January 1933. It was opened to walkers and autos four years later, in May 1937. The suspension bridge is painted the classic International Orange and has two main cables flowing over the top.

2. Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park also houses the Japanese Tea Garden. A magnificent five-acre garden was used for the 1894 World's Fair. Also to the stunning flora and animals. There is a coffee shop that serves Japanese food and refreshments.

You can also find the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. This extraordinary science complex serves as a planetarium, aquarium, and history of nature museum all in one! Spending a few hours examining the hundreds of plants, animals, and relics. 

3. Ferry Building 

The Ferry Building, a recognizable marketplace, has served San Franciscans since 1898. The building on Market Street has an arched ceiling, skylights, and a 245-foot tower. 

At the Ferry Construction, you may purchase items from local artisans and farmers. Locals frequently buy fresh vegetables at the market. But tourists are encouraged to stop by for some shopping and delicious samples.

4. Alcatraz Island

Speaking of ferries, one of the greatest famous in town leaves Pier 33 for the historical Alcatraz Island. Alcatraz Island opened as a jail in 1934, housing infamous convicts. Examples include Al Capone, Robert Franklin Stroud, and George "Machine Gun" Kelly. 

The site became famous for being unable to leave due to the turbulent surrounding waves. There have been fourteen documented attempts to flee. The notorious federal prison closed in 1963.

Today, tourists can enjoy guided excursions to the island. It features the historic warden's landmark, prison libraries, dining hall, recreation yard, and prisoner cells. They can also go through the island's gardens and bird sanctuary.

5. Chinatown

Chinatown, with its modern artwork and historic structures. It is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the United States. 

Established in the mid-19th century. This neighborhood is home to many well-known NorCal sites. Including Grant Avenue, one of San Francisco's oldest streets, Tin How Temple. Also the oldest American Chinese temple, and the renowned Dragon Gate.

Chinatown is the ideal location for tourists to sample Chinese American cuisine. Everyone may find something tasty, from dim sum to mooncakes! Visit a Chinese teahouse for a more authentic experience.
